The present invention relates to a urethane dimethacrylate replacement candidate based on the reaction products of equal molar amounts of 2-hydroxypropylmethacrylate and 2-hydroxyethylmethacrylate with mixed-MDI. This resin is a viscous liquid at room temperature; however, formulations with reactive diluents produce low viscosity liquid with a refractive index comparable to bisGMA formulations, as well as having Young’s modulus comparable to bisGMA formulations. Unlike bisGMA this resin should have no negative health effects.
